U.S.S. Perry | Fastest ship in the Navy. The brig USS Perry was the “fastest ship in the Navy” when she was launched in 1843 from the Norfolk Navy Yard. She served off of Paraguay, blockaded ports during the Mexican-American war, suppressed slave trade, and served in the civil war.
The USS Perry is a remarkable naval vessel that has served the United States Navy for over four decades. Named after Commodore Matthew Perry, this ship has a rich history and has played a significant role in various missions and operations around the world. The USS Perry is an Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigate that was commissioned in 1977. It was built by Bath Iron Works in Maine and was one of the first ships to be equipped with the Aegis combat system, making it a highly advanced and capable ship.
This highly accurate kit has a carved basswood hull, photo-etched details, laser-cut parts, and more. Full plans and a 40-page instruction manual are, of course, included.
