After being launched in New York, in 1851, the yacht America crossed the Atlantic to challenge the entire fleet of England’s Royal Yacht Squadron. Winning, she was awarded a silver trophy that was to become known as the America’s Cup, the most cherished prize in the world of sailing.

The sailing yacht America is a true masterpiece of design and engineering, representing the pinnacle of luxury and performance on the open seas. With its sleek and elegant lines, this magnificent vessel is instantly recognizable and has become an icon in the world of yachting. Built in 1851, the America was originally known as the racing schooner ‘Yacht America’ and was commissioned by a syndicate of wealthy businessmen from New York. Its purpose was to compete in the Royal Yacht Squadron’s annual 100 Guinea Cup race, which later became known as the America’s Cup.
